Mālaʻai Garden Club-Beet Hummus

Quick and easy, inexpensive and nutritious this recipe is ideal for everyone. The beet adds a natural sweetness and vibrant color to traditional hummus recipes that are packed full of good fats and protein.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups canned garbanzo beans

1/2 cup liquid from canned beans

1/2 cup tahini

1 large clove of garlic

1/2 a lemon juiced

1/3 cup olive oil

1 tsp curry powder

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1 medium beet roasted and peeled

Instructions:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and salt and pepper to taste.

    Place 1/4 cup hummus in a lettuce or cabbage leaf for an edible bowl!
